great book - highly informative ! • • • • • (bewertet mit 5 von 5 Punkten) Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen (REAL NAME) Rezension bezieht sich auf: Sound Reproduction: The Acoustics and Psychoacoustics of Loudspeakers and Rooms (Taschenbuch) Mr. Toole has been working for Harman International for over 25 years and has published several AES-papers on the topic of loudspeaker sound-quality evaluation. This guy knows what he's writing about, and it shows .... He has a clear idea on how things should be done, but is also objective in citing other references of people who's research has led them to other results. This book is of interest not only to HiEnd-Audio or HiFi-Enthusiasts, but should be 'recommended reading' for sound-engineers and all people working with audio monitors, in places or jobs where quality (still ;-) matters (which seems to be getting rarer these days ... let's forget about most radio and tv-broadcaster in this respect - thanks to 'multiband compression' or 'broadcast signal optimization' in general, let alone MP3 and the like .... anyway...) So - I can only highly recommend this book which is full of up-to-date references (the first edition from 2008 holds literature references up to 2007), is highly informative and at the same time very well written and easy to read.
